Stretching hundreds of hectares, the Hon Khoi salt field attracts visitors as a blend of labor beauty and
Khoi is from Nghe An, currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. As a travel blogger who loves to explore and loves reckless experiences, in October 2020, without a predetermined plan, Khoi was determined to come to Ta Xua to admire the beautiful sea of clouds without any prior preparation. A paradise that tourists often gossip about, even though the Northwest is in the rainy season.

Ta Xua is one of the places that I’ve wanted to go to for a long time, even though I know it’s not easy or if I have a chance to meet the floating sea of clouds,” Khoi said. So in 1993, he posted the news on social networks and luckily found two more companions. The trio moved by bus from Hanoi to Bac Yen district and then rented motorbikes from Bac Yen town to Ta. The total distance is about 200 km.
According to Khoi, the road to Bac Yen was quite gentle because the group was sitting in a bus, only the sharp turns were dizzy. The real difficulty and challenge lie in the next 15 km when all three drive their own motorbikes to reach Ta Xua. This place is famous for quite a few winding, bumpy, rocky passes; if the steering wheel is not hard, it is difficult to run-up.
Even so, in the difficult times, there was… unlucky, the road was caused by rain, so a few sections of the road had serious landslides, mud, rocks, and stones from the mountainside flowing down, overflowing the path, slippery, and some muddy sections up to half. The wheels forced the group to take off their shoes, get off the trolley and walk about 200 m. “This was probably a memorable and muddy trip, literally and figuratively,” the Nghe An young man laughed.
The journey to conquer Ta Xua encountered many difficulties due to the rain. The mud flooded half the wheel, causing Khoi’s group to get out of the car and take a walk. Photo: NVCC
The destination of Tien Khoi is the Hang Dong sea of clouds with an altitude of more than 2,000 m above sea level, lying with its back against the primeval Ta Xua range. For Khoi, this is the best place to hunt clouds to welcome the most beautiful sunrise. Standing from the dead end of the “dinosaur spine” in Hang Dong, visitors will see the sea of clouds floating like silver waves in the wind, spreading across the earth and sky, embracing the hill, gently carrying follow the cold air pouring down around the pass.
It is a bit of a pity that Khoi’s group could not admire the sea of clouds in the ideal beauty because of going on a rainy day. However, the Nghe An guy still feels very happy and satisfied because he can see “the sea” Legendary clouds” and experience the feeling of clouds falling into your heart. In addition, he and his companions also had the opportunity to admire the majestic and poetic beauty of Ta Xua mountains from above with green patches, clearly feeling the fresh air here.

Currently, on Ta Xua, there are many homestay services, motels, and local eateries. However, during his 2-day-and-night journey, Tien Khoi did not forget to take advantage of the dishes of ethnic minorities such as hill chicken, Ban pig, hot pot… and experience a cafe overlooking the mountain.
Before Hang Dong, Ta Xua, the guy born in 1993, also had quite a few trips full of discovery and experience, such as conquering Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai or Y Ty in Lao Cai. Of course, these are all destinations with their own difficulties and challenges, but they bring many interesting things and beautiful pictures for people to experience.
Tien Khoi shared that any trip brings many interesting things, and Ta Xua is no exception. Although he had some trouble with the weather, he “harvested” new friends and many good memories. “Let’s learn to look at life the way we look at this sea of clouds. Sometimes it’s white clouds; sometimes, it’s dark clouds. As long as we are always ready to accept, we can still see the very blue sky in the end.”, Khoi messaged. Follow vnexpress
