Massive Fire Breaks Out at Factory in Hanoi, 200 Responders Involved

A large fire broke out at a factory measuring around 500 square meters in Trung Giã, Hanoi, on the morning of October 5. The blaze quickly intensified due to the presence of flammable materials such as plastic and foam, producing thick black smoke that could be seen from kilometers away.

The incident occurred around 7:45 AM in the Nghè hamlet of Hợp Nhất village. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire erupted suddenly, with flames and smoke rising high into the air. Local residents, noticing the danger, alerted authorities and began efforts to combat the fire.

The local government mobilized resources quickly, deploying four fire trucks and heavy machinery to the scene. Approximately 200 individuals participated in the firefighting efforts, including 30 firefighters, around 60 local police and military personnel, and nearly 100 local citizens.

Firefighters worked diligently to cool down the area and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures, including the owner's house, which was just 15 meters away from the factory. Fortunately, all workers and individuals present in the facility managed to evacuate safely upon discovering the fire, resulting in no injuries.

By around 9 AM, the fire was mostly under control, and it was completely extinguished by 10 AM. Authorities continued to monitor the area to prevent any flare-ups and began assessing the damage caused by the fire.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, although this is still under investigation. The incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with factories storing combustible materials, particularly plastics and foams.

Officials have urged businesses to regularly inspect their electrical systems, safety equipment, and emergency exits to mitigate the risk of such incidents and ensure the safety of workers.
