Tragic Fire in Hanoi Claims Five Lives

A tragic fire erupted in a four-story house located at 2B Van Cao Alley in Tay Ho, Hanoi, during the early hours of September 16, leading to the loss of five lives. The Hanoi Police Command Center received the emergency call at approximately 2:06 AM.

Upon notification, the police dispatched five fire trucks and nearly 40 firefighters from local fire and rescue divisions to the scene. They collaborated with local authorities and residents to combat the blaze and assist in rescue efforts.

According to police reports, the fire occurred in a house with an area of about 60 square meters per floor. When the emergency services arrived, four individuals had managed to escape, while others were still trapped inside the burning structure.

By around 2:30 AM, firefighters had largely contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas. The flames were completely extinguished by 2:45 AM. During the search and rescue operations, the fire department discovered the bodies of five victims, who were subsequently handed over to medical personnel.

In response to this tragic incident, Vu Dai Thang, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, arrived at the scene early this morning to oversee recovery efforts. He instructed city police to coordinate with relevant departments and local authorities to provide support to the victims' families and to investigate the cause of the fire.
