According to Ukrainian media, a large contingent of Colombian mercenaries has been sent to the Kharkiv region to aid Ukrainian forces that are currently encircled by Russian troops. The Ukrainian military command is reportedly intensifying efforts to rescue its soldiers who are besieged in the area, particularly in the fortified positions of Vovchansk and Velykyi Burluk.

General Mykhailo Drapatyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has visited the Kharkiv capital to discuss the situation with frontline commanders. The primary focus of this inspection is the precarious situation of Ukrainian units trapped in the encirclement by Russian forces, especially in the Reznikov area.

General Drapatyi has brought along a significant number of Colombian mercenaries, who are seemingly tasked with the mission of rescuing the Ukrainian troops surrounded in Russian strongholds. Russian military sources have emphasized that their Aerospace Forces and kamikaze drones are continuing to conduct intense attacks on the concentration points of Ukrainian forces and equipment in the newly established fortified positions in Kharkiv.

It is important to note that the Russian Defense Ministry has also claimed that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are trapped with no chance of escape from the fortified areas in Kharkiv. Russian units are tightening their encirclement systematically, forcing Ukrainian defenders to retreat deeper into these strongholds, while efforts to break the encirclement are being met with fierce resistance from Russian forces.

According to Russian experts, Ukrainian leadership may be acutely aware of the dire consequences if the troops trapped in the Reznikov stronghold are completely annihilated by Russian forces. Should the Russian commanders achieve their objectives, they would increase pressure on Ukraine's defensive system in the Kharkiv region, potentially turning this northeastern province into a new hot front, further depleting Ukraine's already exhausted reserves.

This is precisely why the Ukrainian General Staff has decided to conduct a breakthrough offensive operation using foreign mercenaries. The goal is not to capture territory or repel Russian advances, but solely to relieve the forces in the 'Reznikov stronghold.' However, Russian experts point out that Ukraine may find it difficult to expect success in this endeavor, as in recent days, the Russian 'Northern' group has significantly reinforced its positions, making any offensive likely to result in considerable losses for Ukrainian forces.
