Vietnam's sports delegation achieved another bronze medal on September 21 at Asiad 20, with Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly winning in the women's kumite 68kg category in karate. In a closely contested match against Tsubasa Kama, the two competitors ended in a tie at 4-4, but Dieu Ly was declared the winner due to the Senshu rule, which grants victory to the athlete who scores first.

This bronze medal marked the only medal for Vietnam on the second official competition day of Asiad 20. In gymnastics, three Vietnamese athletes qualified for the finals in their respective events. Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien scored 14.300 points on the pommel horse, Nguyen Van Khanh Phong achieved 13.833 points on the rings, and Trinh Hai Khang recorded 13.700 points in the vault.

In swimming, the men's 4x200m relay team, consisting of Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen, Nguyen Viet Tuong, and Tran Van Nguyen Quoc, finished fourth with a time of 7 minutes 18.09 seconds, while China took the gold medal and set a new Asian record with 7 minutes 00.17 seconds.

In other events, Vo Thi My Tien finished ninth in the women's 200m individual medley final, leaving Vietnam without a swimming medal so far. The women's volleyball team faced a surprising defeat against Indonesia, losing 0-3 in the match for 5th to 8th place and will play again to determine their final ranking.

In karate, Khuat Hai Nam lost 3-9 to Cheng-Chung Shih from Taiwan in the bronze medal match. Other athletes, including Nguyen Duc Ngoc in boxing and several beach volleyball pairs, did not advance past the qualifying rounds. After two days of competition, Vietnam currently ranks 20th in the overall medal tally at Asiad 20, with three bronze medals, placing sixth in Southeast Asia behind Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

On the first day of competition (September 20), Vietnam's athletes participated in several important events, including shooting, swimming, karate, and women's volleyball. The delegation secured its first bronze medal in teqball mixed doubles, thanks to Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan and Trinh Gia Nghi. Meanwhile, Thailand impressively won three gold medals in teqball on the same day.
