Tragic Drowning of Two Women Selling Seafood at Hon Rom Beach

On the afternoon of September 14, two women who sold seafood to tourists at Hon Rom Beach in Mui Ne, Bình Thuận, drowned while swimming. Local residents noticed them struggling in the water around 5 PM and quickly alerted others, rushing to their aid. Unfortunately, despite attempts at resuscitation, the two women could not be saved.

The victims were identified as 55-year-old Pham Thi Hoa, a resident of Mui Ne, and 56-year-old Tran Thi Mang from Bình Thuận. They had been selling seafood along the beach but decided to take a break from their work and go for a swim when they encountered trouble.

Witnesses reported that the waves were not particularly large at the time of the incident, suggesting that they may have been caught in a rip current. Local authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
