In a significant crackdown on financial misconduct, Thai authorities have seized 800 land certificates and 60 vehicles linked to a former abbot of Wat Phra Bat Nam Phu, valued at around 7.8 trillion VND. The operation, named "Operation Endgame," was conducted by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in collaboration with various anti-corruption agencies.

The investigation began after Trynh Phoraksa, a criminologist, provided information regarding Seksan Supseubsakul, also known as “Mor Bee,” a prominent figure in the religious community. From August 2019 to 2025, Seksan allegedly received over 300 million baht in donations through a personal bank account, claiming the funds would support the temple and aid AIDS patients. However, investigators allege that a portion of these funds was misappropriated.

On August 26, 2025, authorities executed searches at 17 locations in Bangkok and Lopburi, resulting in the arrest of Phra Alongkot, the former abbot, and Seksan. They face charges of embezzlement, money laundering, and other related offenses, both of which deny the allegations. During the searches, authorities confiscated assets including cash, luxury items, and additional land certificates.

Following the arrests, the CIB continued to trace assets believed to have been purchased with temple funds but registered under other names. The total value of the seized assets, including land and vehicles, is estimated to exceed 10 billion baht (over 7.8 trillion VND).

As the case progresses, the Asset Management Office (AMLO) has initiated proceedings to hold 20 assets related to the case, with a total value of approximately 60.95 million baht. AMLO has also opened a window for affected parties to file claims for restitution or compensation. The case remains under legal scrutiny as prosecutors prepare to bring charges against the involved parties.
