On September 12, 2026, VinFast and GSM announced a major leadership transition as Phạm Nhật Vượng and his wife, Phạm Thu Hương, step down from their executive roles. Their sons, Phạm Nhật Quân Anh and Phạm Nhật Minh Hoàng, will take over key executive positions within the companies.
Phạm Nhật Quân Anh, born in 1993 and a graduate of Singapore Management University, has been appointed as the Chairman and CEO of VinFast globally, as well as the Chairman and CEO of VinFast Vietnam. He previously held the position of Chairman of VinFast since May 2026. In his new role, Quân Anh will oversee all operations of VinFast during this pivotal phase of growth.
Phạm Nhật Minh Hoàng, the younger son born in 2000, will assume the role of CEO of GSM globally and CEO of GSM Vietnam. He has held various leadership positions within VinFast and other companies under the Vingroup umbrella, contributing to sectors such as technology and energy. Minh Hoàng is also a significant shareholder in multiple industrial and technology enterprises within Vingroup's ecosystem.
VinFast has expanded its presence to 16 countries, including markets in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia, producing electric vehicles and scooters in factories located in Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. Meanwhile, GSM operates under the Green SM brand in seven countries and aims to become a publicly traded company on international stock exchanges.
This leadership shift reflects the Vượng family's commitment to continuing the legacy of innovation and global expansion initiated by Phạm Nhật Vượng, who is recognized as a key figure in Vietnam's business landscape.
