A tragic fire erupted at a six-story hotel located in Tan Son Nhi Ward, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City, early on September 7, leading to the deaths of two individuals. The victims, a 24-year-old man named Nguyen Tran Nhat Duy and a 20-year-old woman named Ho Thi Phuong, were guests at the hotel and became trapped during the blaze.

The fire started around 5 AM on the ground floor of the hotel, which has a total area of over 500 square meters and consists of 19 rooms. At the time of the fire, nearly 30 people were inside, primarily guests. Eyewitnesses reported panic as people attempted to escape and extinguish the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Firefighters responded promptly, with seven fire trucks and 48 personnel arriving at the scene by 5:09 AM. They worked to rescue those trapped inside, utilizing various access points including stairwells and balconies. The fire was extinguished within approximately ten minutes, primarily affecting an area of about 12 square meters on the ground floor.

After controlling the fire, authorities discovered the bodies of the two victims. Nguyen Tran Nhat Duy was found in the hallway on the second floor, while Ho Thi Phuong was located in a ground-floor room. The exact rooms they occupied prior to the incident have not yet been determined.

In addition to the fatalities, 26 individuals were successfully rescued from the hotel, with 17 suffering from varying degrees of burns and smoke inhalation. Emergency services dispatched seven ambulances and numerous medical personnel to provide immediate care. Five victims were taken to Thong Nhat Hospital, with three suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning and one requiring mechanical ventilation. Two children, aged 9 and 10, were treated for smoke inhalation and burns, while a two-year-old boy was reported to be in stable condition.

The hotel’s location, which is approximately three kilometers from Tan Son Nhat Airport, has been cordoned off to facilitate ongoing investigations and recovery efforts.
