The Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has recently issued an urgent warning about a fraudulent website that is impersonating its customer service platform. The website, found at evnquocgia(.)com, is designed to closely replicate the appearance, images, logos, and branding of the Vietnam Electricity Group. This malicious site contains fake download buttons for an application misleadingly named "CSKH EVNSPC," which aims to trick users into downloading malware.

According to EVNSPC, this counterfeit application does not belong to the company and lacks any functionality for checking electricity bills. The fraudulent application is designed to spread malware that can automatically read and steal SMS messages containing OTP verification codes. It can also overlay fake interfaces on banking applications to capture login information, record screens, and even take control of users’ phones remotely to withdraw money from their bank accounts.

In response to this threat, EVNSPC strongly advises customers to avoid accessing the website evnquocgia(.)com and to refrain from downloading or installing any APK files from unfamiliar links outside of official app stores. The company emphasizes that it will never request customers to install applications via APK files or send download links directly through messages or social media. The official customer service application of EVNSPC is only available on the Google Play Store and the App Store.

This warning comes amid a broader context where several state-owned enterprises, including EVN, have reported significant revenue growth, contributing positively to the national economy. As the market evolves, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has also proposed transitioning electricity purchase contracts away from EVN to foster a competitive wholesale and retail electricity market.
