Electric Machine Green (DMX), a publicly traded company on the HOSE, announced on August 26 that it has received a decision from the Foreign Investment Department to terminate its investment license for operations in Cambodia. This decision comes after the closure of its subsidiary, MWG (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, which managed the Bluetronics retail chain.

In January 2025, MWG (Cambodia) Co., Ltd ceased operations and completed its dissolution process. DMX clarified that this termination of the investment license will not impact its current business activities. Bluetronics, which operated similarly to DMX in Vietnam, had 44 stores in Cambodia as of March 31, 2022.

Over nearly six years of operation in Cambodia, the company reported cumulative losses of 684.8 billion VND. The financial performance of MWG (Cambodia) Co., Ltd showed continuous losses, with figures reaching 3.4 billion VND in 2019, 65.5 billion VND in 2020, 187.34 billion VND in 2021, and 330.6 billion VND in 2022. In its final year of operation, 2023, the company recorded a loss of 97.96 billion VND.

As a result, the total losses from the establishment of MWG (Cambodia) Co., Ltd until its closure amounted to 684.8 billion VND by the end of 2023. On the stock market, DMX shares were officially listed on HOSE on August 6 at a reference price of 80,000 VND. The shares peaked at 90,000 VND on August 12 but closed at 79,000 VND on August 27. Notably, on August 19, the company announced a dividend payout of 40%, distributing over 5 trillion VND to shareholders on August 26.
