Man Dies After Altercation with Father-in-Law in Vietnam

Authorities in Lam Dong are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on the night of August 26, 2026, where a brother fatally stabbed his sibling. The incident took place in a residential area of Tien Thanh Ward, and the suspect, Vo Ngoc Hung, 44, has since turned himself in to the police.
According to initial reports, the altercation happened around 11 PM. Hung allegedly used a knife to stab his older brother, Vo Ngoc Hung, 47, during a heated argument. Following the stabbing, the victim was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Police were notified of the incident and promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. They collected evidence and are working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case. An autopsy has been requested to determine the exact cause of death and any relevant details related to the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the two brothers, who both work in the fishing industry, had a disagreement. Neighbors reported that their elderly mother had been living with Hung, and recently, when Hung was away at sea, their mother fell ill. Hung had called his brother to bring their mother home for care, but upon returning, he found her missing, leading to frustration and ultimately the tragic confrontation.
The Lam Dong Provincial Police continue to investigate the matter, ensuring that appropriate legal actions are taken in accordance with the law.
