On August 26, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), held a ceremony to officially transfer three vocational education institutions. This move is part of a broader initiative to create a vocational training model that supports employment for specific groups, helping them stabilize their lives and reintegrate into the community.

The three institutions being transferred are the Hanoi Vocational College of Technology, the Dung Quat Vocational College of Industry in Quang Ngai, and the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College of Industry II. This transition was authorized by a decision from the Prime Minister on August 14, which aimed to hand over these institutions to the MPS for management.

The decision to transfer these educational facilities is based on a conclusion made by the Central Committee on June 4 regarding the proposal for vocational training and employment introduction for specific groups. These groups include citizens who have completed their service in the people's police, those who have finished serving prison sentences and are reintegrating into society, and individuals undergoing drug rehabilitation.

Through this model, the police force aims to implement a comprehensive management process that supports these specific groups from the initial stages of training to their eventual employment. This initiative is expected to help reduce recidivism rates and promote community reintegration.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan emphasized that the transfer of these three educational institutions is not merely an administrative change but marks the beginning of a new development phase. It aims to provide vocational training for citizens who have completed their police service, those reintegrating into society, and individuals recovering from addiction.

Representatives from the MOET urged relevant units and the three vocational institutions to promptly finalize their organizational structures, personnel, facilities, and professional standards to ensure compliance with regulations. They also called on local police units, especially at the community level, to review and compile a list of individuals interested in vocational training to facilitate a transparent and appropriate enrollment process.
