Gold Prices Rise in Vietnam: July 10 Update
Gold prices in Vietnam have seen an increase today, July 10, with SJC gold and various types of gold rings

On the morning of August 22, gold prices in Vietnam continued to rise, with SJC gold trading at 147 million VND per tael. This marks a surprising development as the buying price for SJC gold is now lower than the global gold prices for the first time.
At 9 AM, Saigon Jewelry Company listed the price of SJC gold at 144.6 - 147.6 million VND per tael for buying and selling, which is an increase of 1 million VND per tael compared to the previous day. Other major gold trading companies, such as DOJI Group, Phu Quy, and Bao Tin Minh Chau, also raised their SJC gold prices to 147.6 million VND per tael.
The prices for gold rings varied among different companies. For instance, Phu Quy gold rings are priced at 144.6 - 147.6 million VND per tael, up by 1 million VND per tael from the previous morning. SJC gold rings are priced at 144.1 - 147.1 million VND per tael, while DOJI gold rings are at 144.5 - 148.5 million VND per tael, reflecting an increase of half a million VND per tael compared to the previous day.
Interestingly, the domestic buying price for gold is currently lower than the global market. As of now, the global gold price is listed at 4,603 USD per ounce, which is an increase of 89 USD compared to the previous morning. This global price translates to approximately 145.8 million VND per tael, indicating that the domestic buying price for SJC gold is lower by 1.2 million VND per tael.
Moreover, the buying prices for gold rings from various brands are also lower than the global prices by 1.2 to 1.7 million VND per tael. On the monetary market, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate on August 22 at 25,600 VND/USD, unchanged from the previous morning. At Vietcombank, the USD exchange rate is listed at 25,920 - 26,300 VND/USD (buying - selling). In the free market, the USD is traded around 25,860 - 25,910 VND/USD, maintaining a lower level compared to the banking system.
Overall, the gold market is experiencing significant fluctuations, with prices surpassing the 4,600 USD per ounce mark globally, reflecting ongoing trends in the precious metals market.
