Maya Boyd and Other Actors Campaign for X-Men Roles

In a surprising turn of events, actors in Hollywood are no longer shying away from comic book movies; instead, they are actively campaigning for roles as if they were running for office. This trend is particularly evident in the lead-up to Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot, where numerous actors have publicly expressed their desire to play various mutant characters.

Maya Boyd, among others, has thrown her hat into the ring, joining a crowded field of contenders. Keke Palmer has been vocal about her ambition to portray Rogue, while Cynthia Erivo has described playing Storm as a dream role. Other actors like Jodie Turner-Smith and Kirby Howell-Baptiste have also shown interest in the role of Storm, emphasizing the competitive nature of the casting process.

On the male side, Taron Egerton has made it clear that he wants to take over the Wolverine mantle from Hugh Jackman, and Dacre Montgomery has positioned himself as a potential Cyclops. The enthusiasm for these roles is not just talk; it appears to be yielding results. Inde Navarrette recently confirmed that she met with director Jake Schreier after revealing her interest in playing Mystique, although she has also been linked to the role of Rogue.

To add to the excitement, fans can now track the frontrunners for the X-Men roles in real time, thanks to a new analysis by The Action Network. Jacob Elordi's chances of landing a role have skyrocketed from 24 percent in late July to an impressive 96 percent. Meanwhile, Sadie Sink, already cast as Jean Grey, tops the leaderboard at 98 percent, suggesting her role is all but confirmed.

Interestingly, despite Hugh Jackman’s retirement from the Wolverine role, he still holds a 43 percent chance of returning, according to polls. Denzel Washington has also emerged as a surprising name, with a 30 percent chance rumored to play Magneto. As the casting process unfolds, it’s clear that the competition is fierce, and actors are willing to go the extra mile to secure their place in this iconic franchise.
