Gold Prices Surge on August 11, 2026

On August 11, 2026, gold prices in Vietnam saw a substantial rise, mirroring the upward trend in global gold prices. The SJC gold price increased by 2 million VND per tael, with the current listing at Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) set between 142.5 million VND and 145.5 million VND per tael for buying and selling, respectively. This marks a notable increase compared to the previous day.

Other major gold trading companies in Vietnam, such as DOJI, PNJ, and Phu Quy, also adjusted their SJC gold prices upwards, with selling prices commonly reaching around 145.5 million VND per tael. Interestingly, the price of gold rings at several companies has surpassed that of gold bars, with Bao Tin Minh Chau gold rings priced at 142.4 million to 146.4 million VND per tael, reflecting a rise of 2.2 million VND from the previous morning.

On the global market, gold was listed at approximately 4,423 USD per ounce this morning, which represents an increase of 81 USD compared to the previous day. When converted at the current exchange rate, this equates to about 140.5 million VND per tael. Consequently, the SJC gold price is currently higher than the global gold price by about 5 million VND per tael, excluding taxes and related fees.

In the currency market, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate for August 11 at 25,491 VND per USD, an increase of 25 VND from the previous session. At Vietcombank, the USD was priced at 25,970 - 26,350 VND per USD for buying and selling, which is a decrease of 50 VND in both directions compared to the previous morning. In the unofficial market, the USD was traded around 25,680 - 25,710 VND, down by 120 VND from the previous session.

Overall, the significant rise in gold prices today reflects both domestic and international market dynamics, as investors continue to respond to economic conditions and market trends.
