Gold Prices Surge on August 11, 2026: SJC Gold Up by 2 Million VND

On August 11, 2026, the gold market in Vietnam experienced a notable surge, with both SJC gold and 9999 gold rings increasing by up to 2 million VND per tael. As of 9:15 AM, Phu Quy Group listed the SJC gold price at 142.5-145.5 million VND per tael for buying and selling, reflecting a 2 million VND increase in both buying and selling prices.

Similarly, DOJI Group reported the same price range for SJC gold, indicating a consistent trend across major dealers. The buying and selling spread remained at 3 million VND per tael.

In terms of 9999 gold rings, Phu Quy Group also set the price at 142.5-145.5 million VND per tael, with a 2 million VND increase noted. DOJI Group's pricing for gold rings was slightly lower, at 142-145.8 million VND per tael, with increases of 1.8 million VND for buying and 1.6 million VND for selling.

Meanwhile, the global gold price surged to approximately 4,417.9 USD per ounce, marking a significant increase of 96 USD per ounce. This rise in gold prices is attributed to various factors, including weaker-than-expected employment reports from the U.S., which have affected market expectations regarding interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

The recent trends indicate that despite rising U.S. bond yields and a strengthening dollar, demand for gold remains robust as investors seek safe-haven assets amidst geopolitical uncertainties, particularly concerning transportation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Looking ahead, market participants are keenly awaiting upcoming economic data, including the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) from the U.S., which could significantly influence interest rate expectations and, consequently, gold prices.

Technically, gold prices are facing resistance in the range of 4,360-4,380 USD per ounce. A sustained breakout above this level could see prices targeting 4,480 USD per ounce, while a drop below 4,299 USD could lead to further declines towards 4,223 USD or even 4,147 USD per ounce.

Investors are advised to consider their financial capabilities and risk tolerance before making any decisions regarding gold purchases or sales.
