Successful Establishment of the Dong Hung Former Police Association for 2026-2031
The Dong Hung Commune Police successfully organized the founding congress of the Former People's Police

The first congress of the Elderly Association in Lam Dong province took place on August 21, 2026, under the theme 'Elderly - Bright Examples - Unity - Innovation - Development.' This significant event gathered nearly 300 official delegates representing over 243,000 elderly members in the province, highlighting their vital role in community and social development.
Among the attendees were notable figures such as Nguyen Lam, the Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Elderly Association, and local leaders. The congress marked a historic moment as it unified the Elderly Associations of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces, alongside integrating the Retirement Club into the provincial association.
In the previous term (2021-2026), despite administrative changes, the Elderly Association adapted effectively, promoting the 'Elderly - Bright Examples' movement. This initiative led to the establishment of 292 intergenerational self-help clubs, engaging over 14,000 members. The association also advocated for the implementation of the Elderly Law, ensuring the protection and rights of elderly individuals.
Looking ahead to the 2026-2031 term, the Elderly Association aims to innovate its activities and strengthen its organizational structure. Plans include enhancing the role of elderly individuals in local governance, economic development, and cultural life. The association will also focus on social welfare policies and health care for the elderly, especially those in difficult circumstances.
Furthermore, there is a commitment to improve the protection of elderly individuals against high-tech crimes. The provincial authorities emphasized the need for ongoing education about online fraud and equipping elderly members with skills to identify and avoid scams.
Nguyen Lam, during his address, underscored that elderly individuals are not merely recipients of care but valuable social resources that should be utilized effectively. The congress concluded with the election of a new executive board, including Nguyen Thi Phuc, who was re-elected as the chairperson for the upcoming term.
With a spirit of 'Elderly - Bright Examples - Unity - Innovation - Development,' the congress called on all members and elderly individuals across the province to continue their commitment to community service and contribute to the successful implementation of local and national policies.
