A new smart police kiosk has recently been launched in Hanoi, marking a significant advancement in public safety technology. This initiative allows citizens to report incidents using voice commands, call for emergency assistance, receive crime alerts, and access legal information, all through a user-friendly interface.

The smart police kiosk, part of a multi-functional ecosystem developed by the Ministry of Public Security, aims to provide a convenient point of contact for residents seeking assistance from law enforcement. The system leverages data from the national population database and electronic identification to enhance its effectiveness.

During its pilot phase, the kiosk offers five main functions: accepting reports and feedback, enabling SOS calls, providing alerts on criminal methods, allowing users to find police station locations, and offering legal information. One of the standout features is the AI-driven voice reporting system, which guides users step-by-step in providing information. This ensures that reports are recorded accurately and comprehensively, facilitating better handling and processing by the police.

Once a report is submitted, the information is sent to the Ministry of Public Security's processing system, which then forwards it to the appropriate police unit for action. This streamlined process not only improves transparency but also helps reduce instances of incomplete reports, enabling law enforcement to classify and address cases more efficiently.

In addition to reporting capabilities, the kiosk includes an SOS button, providing a direct line to local police for immediate assistance in urgent situations. This feature is crucial for citizens who encounter security issues or need prompt police support.

The kiosk also offers information on crime prevention methods, helping residents stay informed about emerging criminal tactics and enhancing their ability to protect personal property and information. Furthermore, it allows users to search for police station contact details and access legal resources, making it easier for citizens to navigate the legal landscape.

According to Major General Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Ministry's Department C06, this initiative is designed to alleviate some of the burdens on local police while improving overall security and order in the community. It also supports the development of a digital government and paves the way for expanding smart services for the public.

Hanoi is the first city in Vietnam to pilot the smart police kiosk, and plans are in place to further refine the model and integrate additional services linked to population data and electronic identification systems.
