In a recent interview with CNN, he stated that if Ukraine were to receive just 10% of the U.S. Patriot missile stockpile, it would be able to intercept and destroy all Russian ballistic missiles. Currently, he noted that Ukraine possesses only 1% of the necessary interceptors.

Zelensky highlighted the increasing frequency of missile attacks from Russia, indicating that the number of ballistic missiles launched each month has doubled compared to previous periods. He described the situation as dire, with Ukraine facing large-scale attacks approximately four to five times a month. "Every night, Ukraine is attacked, and we must confront these large-scale assaults," he said.

During the interview, Zelensky also expressed confidence that Ukraine could survive the winter if it had access to 5% of the U.S. missile reserves. He revealed that the current stock of interceptors available to Ukraine is significantly lower than in previous years, which poses a challenge to its defense efforts.

The specifics of the U.S. Patriot missile stockpile remain classified, but a report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) indicated that the U.S. military currently has fewer than 827 Patriot missiles available. This is a decrease from earlier figures, as the U.S. had over 2,330 missiles before the conflict escalated.

In his efforts to secure more Patriot missiles for Ukraine, Zelensky mentioned that he has been involved in numerous discussions and negotiations, some of which he could not disclose. He emphasized the importance of U.S. support and indicated that he has been in contact with U.S. officials regarding military assistance.

Zelensky also touched on the broader geopolitical implications of the conflict, asserting that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war and has not faced sufficient pressure. He firmly rejected any proposals to cede Ukrainian territory in the Donbass region, stressing that security guarantees are paramount for Ukraine.
