Ha Young's Upcoming Drama Faces Controversy Over Family History

Amid growing controversy surrounding actress Ha Young, SBS has released a statement regarding her upcoming drama, The Long Shot Trial. The drama has come under scrutiny following revelations about Ha Young's great-grandfather, doctor Ahn Sang Ho, who was identified as a council member of a pro-Japanese organization in 1916.

On August 11, an SBS representative addressed the situation, stating, "The Long Shot Trial has already completed a significant portion of filming. We ask for your understanding as it is difficult to provide specific details regarding the amount filmed or the exact production progress at this time." The representative also acknowledged the controversy, saying, "We are aware of the matter and are closely monitoring how the situation develops. If there are any updates, we will share them."

The Long Shot Trial is set to premiere in 2027 and is described as a lighthearted legal comedy. The story follows a group of unconventional lawyers led by Kwon Baek, played by Lee Je Hoon, who is a former lawyer turned law office manager. Together, they find unique ways to turn seemingly unwinnable cases into victories.

Ha Young stars as rookie lawyer Yeo Shim Hee, who, despite lacking money and powerful connections, works harder than anyone else. Her character eventually rises to become the lead attorney at Kwon Baek’s law office.

As the drama's release approaches, fans and viewers are eagerly awaiting further updates, especially in light of the ongoing discussions surrounding Ha Young's family history.
