On July 10, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam officially inaugurated a new factory in Duc Hoa, Tay Ninh province, marking a crucial milestone in its over 30-year journey in Vietnam. This factory is part of a broader plan by PepsiCo to establish seven factories across the country, which is expected to generate around 15,000 jobs.

Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam is a strategic alliance between Japan's Suntory Group and the American company PepsiCo Inc. The company has positioned itself as a reliable partner to the Vietnamese government in promoting sustainable development, aligning with the country's ambitions for a greener and cleaner environment.

The newly opened factory in Tay Ninh represents a total investment of $300 million, covering an area of 20 hectares with a designed capacity of approximately 1.2 billion liters annually. This facility not only showcases large-scale production capabilities but also exemplifies the application of advanced technology and sustainable development practices.

The factory features high automation levels, integrating digital technology and smart production systems throughout the manufacturing process—from raw material reception, processing, packaging, to warehousing and logistics. Its production capacity is among the highest in the region, with a can line operating at speeds of up to 120,000 cans per hour and a PET line achieving 84,000 bottles per hour.

Additionally, the factory houses the first fully automated warehouse of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam and Suntory Beverage & Food Asia in the Asia-Pacific region. The automated system utilizes robots for storage, retrieval, and transportation, enhancing operational efficiency and safety while optimizing supply chain responsiveness.

Beyond increasing production capacity, the factory is equipped to produce products using 100% recycled plastic packaging (rPET), reinforcing Suntory PepsiCo's commitment to a circular economy and paving the way for future innovations in product development and sustainable packaging solutions.

This new facility is expected to create approximately 3,000 direct jobs, further boosting the local supply chain and providing a significant economic stimulus for Tay Ninh province. Over the past 31 years, PepsiCo has invested nearly $1 billion in Vietnam, establishing seven factories and eight distribution centers, which collectively employ over 15,000 people.

During a meeting on July 4, 2025, with Eugene Willemsen, CEO of International Beverages and Executive Vice President of PepsiCo Global, Vietnam acknowledged PepsiCo's successful investment outcomes in the country. The Vietnamese government appreciates the company's contributions to the socio-economic development, particularly through its food factory projects in Ninh Binh and the beverage plant in Tay Ninh.

PepsiCo has committed to adhering to environmental protection regulations, food safety standards, and investing in employee welfare, workforce training, innovation, and digital transformation. Willemsen expressed confidence in Vietnam's growth ambitions, aligning them with PepsiCo's strategic goals, and reiterated the company's readiness to support Vietnam in achieving its double-digit growth targets.
