Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are preparing for a grand wedding celebration in Madeira, Portugal, the birthplace of the football superstar. According to reports, the couple will host their wedding at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel, renowned for its opulent services and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The wedding ceremony is expected to take place at the Funchal church, a historic venue located in the heart of the island's capital, which can accommodate around 800 guests. After nearly ten years together and building a family with five children, Ronaldo and Georgina are ready to officially tie the knot.
Details about the wedding have been shared by journalist Alberto Guzmán on the show D Corazón. In addition to a massive diamond engagement ring, Ronaldo has reportedly gifted Georgina a Porsche, two luxury watches valued at approximately $58,000, and designer items worth $35,000.
Following the ceremony, the couple is expected to move to the Savoy Palace, which is just a five-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from the church. This hotel is considered one of the most luxurious in Madeira, featuring 352 rooms, six swimming pools, a high-end spa, and several five-star dining options with 24/7 service.
The Ronaldo family has frequently stayed at Savoy Palace and is known to prefer The Reserve, a premium resort located on the upper floors of the hotel. Room rates in this area start at around £1,100 (approximately 39 million VND) per night. Guests at The Reserve enjoy exclusive spaces such as the Jacaranda Lounge & Club, a rooftop infinity pool, a sunbathing area, and a private restaurant with personal concierge service.
Despite owning a luxurious seven-story villa overlooking the Atlantic nearby, reports suggest that the couple has chosen Savoy Palace for their wedding day to fully enjoy the atmosphere. The hotel boasts expansive event spaces, including the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests, and the Galaxia rooftop area offering panoramic views of Madeira.
Upon entering the main lobby, guests are greeted by a stunning 10-meter high metal chandelier complemented by large floral arrangements. The interior also features a luxurious bar where a pianist performs every afternoon, along with a winding staircase leading down to an 18-meter long swimming pool.
The hotel includes an infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic, a spacious sunbathing area, and direct access to the beach, providing ideal photo opportunities for the bride and groom. Additionally, the Galaxia Seafood restaurant on the rooftop serves a menu crafted by chef Roberto Barros, blending local ingredients with modern culinary styles.
All rooms at Savoy Palace offer ocean views, private dressing areas, luxurious bathrooms, and customizable pillow and scent options for guests. The hotel also features a children's play area, making it suitable for families like Ronaldo and Georgina's.
After the wedding, the couple is expected to enjoy the hotel's expansive spa, one of the leading wellness centers in Europe, which includes tunnels, artificial caves, and various relaxation treatments, from massages to facials and nail care. Meanwhile, Ronaldo can maintain his fitness routine at the 24-hour gym equipped with professional-grade equipment.
Madeira holds special significance for Ronaldo, not only as his birthplace but also as a place tied to his challenging childhood. The superstar once lived in difficult conditions, sharing a room with his siblings before leaving for Lisbon at the age of 11 to join the Sporting Lisbon academy. Ronaldo continues to maintain a close connection to his hometown, where a bronze statue of him stands, alongside the Museu CR7 and the Pestana CR7 hotel named after him.
