Vietnam's agricultural, forestry, and fishery exports continue to be a cornerstone of the economy, but they are currently confronted with numerous barriers related to market access and administrative procedures. In order to achieve the ambitious export target of $74 billion this year, various industry associations and businesses are calling on the government to work alongside them to eliminate these obstacles.

Despite the growth in exports, companies are experiencing increasing pressure as the prices of many key export products decline. Additionally, markets are tightening their standards regarding quality, traceability, and sustainable development. The high logistics costs and the lengthy procedures for obtaining cultivation area codes and quarantine certifications further complicate the situation.

To address these challenges, businesses are advocating for quicker market openings and simplification of administrative procedures. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has indicated that it will review and reduce bureaucratic processes, enhance digital transformation, and work to remove trade barriers while supporting the expansion of export markets. This initiative aims to ensure that Vietnam's agricultural, forestry, and fishery exports exceed $74 billion by 2026.

In related news, Vietnam's seafood exports to China have surged nearly 39%, with total seafood exports reaching $5.77 billion in the first half of the year, making China the largest market for Vietnamese seafood.
