On the night of July 27, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred in Ho Chi Minh City when a dump truck lost control and crashed into a store, resulting in injuries to a family inside. The incident took place around 10:35 PM on To Ngoc Van Street, where the truck, driven by a male driver, was traveling towards the Thủ Đức market.

According to initial reports, the dump truck veered off course approximately 50 meters past the intersection with Pham Van Dong, crashing through a steel barrier and continuing onto the opposite lane. It then mounted the sidewalk and collided directly with a glasses store, leading to a catastrophic impact that caused the store's front to collapse.

Witnesses described a loud crash followed by clouds of dust as debris flew from the fallen structure. A local resident, Huỳnh Chí Kiến, rushed to the scene after hearing cries for help from inside the store. He, along with other neighbors, managed to remove metal sheets from the entrance and rescue the family trapped inside.

The store owner, Đào Quân, recounted that the family had just closed the store and were preparing for bed when the truck crashed into their establishment. His two sons were sleeping outside, while he and his wife were inside. The force of the impact pushed them against the wall, making it impossible for them to escape without assistance.

“I was terrified and couldn’t think clearly. Fortunately, neighbors heard our cries and helped pull us out,” Quân said. The family was subsequently taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, where it was confirmed that Quân’s wife and children sustained minor injuries.

By around 2 AM, Quân took his family to stay with relatives as they were still in shock from the incident. He expressed concern over the significant damage to their property, which directly affects their livelihood. Quân hopes that authorities will promptly investigate the cause of the accident and address the family's rightful claims.

The area has been cordoned off by local authorities for further investigation into the accident, with statements being taken from witnesses and involved parties.
