In a poignant farewell, thousands of doctors and students came together to honor the life and legacy of Professor Nguyễn Đình Hối, who passed away recently. Known for his remarkable contributions to medicine in Vietnam, he held numerous prestigious positions throughout his career, including Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Health and Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Medical Universities.
Professor Nguyễn Đình Hối was a highly respected figure in the medical community, having served as the Chairman of the Professorship Council in Medicine, as well as Vice Chairman of both the Vietnam Surgical Association and the Vietnam Gastroenterology Association. His dedication to the field earned him several accolades, including the title of People's Teacher in 1996 and the Second Class Labor Medal.
Throughout his career, he made significant contributions to medical education and practice in Vietnam, influencing countless students and professionals. He was also recognized with the Ton That Tung Award in 2004 and the Technology Innovation Award in 2006. In 2025, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 24th Asian Hospital Management Conference held in Ho Chi Minh City, becoming the fourth Vietnamese doctor to receive this prestigious recognition.
