The highly anticipated fan meeting for the popular South Korean variety show Running Man, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on July 4, has been abruptly canceled. The decision was announced by the event organizers, RE:START, who stated that the event could not proceed due to unforeseen circumstances. While they did not specify the exact reasons, reports suggest that the ticket sales did not meet expectations.

The announcement came as a disappointment to many fans, especially those who had already made travel arrangements from other provinces. The ticket prices ranged from 1 million to 4.7 million VND, and the cancellation notice was issued just days before the event, leaving many fans frustrated.

Initially, the fan meeting was announced at the beginning of June, with popular Running Man cast members such as Yoo Jae Seok and Song Ji Hyo promoting their attendance in a video. However, the late announcement and limited promotional activities may have contributed to the poor ticket sales.

In recent years, many fan meetings for South Korean artists in Vietnam have faced challenges, with ticket sales often falling short of expectations. For instance, a concert by Jessica, a former member of the popular girl group Girls' Generation, also struggled with ticket sales despite her fame. The pricing of tickets for these events has been a contentious issue, as many fans feel that the costs are too high compared to the general market.
