A recent ruling from a German court has confirmed Vingroup's legal victory against Dang Thi Hue, commonly known as Hue Nhu. The court dismissed all her appeals and upheld previous decisions requiring her to remove defamatory content about Pham Nhat Vuong, the chairman of Vingroup.

The case stems from a lawsuit filed by Vingroup in September 2025, accusing Hue and 67 other individuals and organizations of spreading false information and defamation about the company and its leadership. Due to Hue's residence in Germany, the case was handled by the German judiciary.

On June 16, 2026, the Frankfurt Regional Court officially rejected Hue's appeals, affirming the earlier ruling by the Hanau District Court. This decision is final, meaning Hue has no further recourse to appeal. The court mandated that she must eliminate all defamatory content and images related to Vuong and bear the full legal costs incurred by Vingroup.

If Hue continues to violate this ruling, she faces potential fines of up to €250,000 or imprisonment for up to two years. The court emphasized that even images created using AI technology or digitally altered must comply with legal standards regarding personal image rights.

Moreover, the court recognized Vuong's right to prevent the dissemination and publication of any images related to him without his consent. This ruling represents a significant legal precedent, reinforcing that freedom of expression does not shield individuals from defamation or personal attacks, particularly in the context of social media and AI-generated content.

Additionally, this victory for Vingroup follows a series of legal actions against various individuals and organizations in Vietnam for similar offenses. Notably, several defendants have already been ordered to publicly apologize and compensate Vingroup for damages due to false reporting.

As Vingroup continues to pursue legal action against those who spread misinformation, the company aims to protect its reputation and set a precedent for responsible information dissemination both domestically and internationally.
