Ocean Theater, Light Square: New symbol of the coastal city of Nha Trang, Vietnam

Nearly 20 km of coastal road in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa) is designed with many typical local works, serving the community in the future.
The urban concept design for the eastern portion of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street, which spans roughly 20 km of Nha Trang City's coastline, has just been authorized by the Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

The entire route area is 253 hectares, of which new construction is about 5.56 hectares, and the density of trees increased by 25% compared to the current status. This place is designed to be a modern, national and international area.

Design of the Ocean Theater in the middle of the coastal city

According to the design, the eastern area of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street will have highlight and symbolic works, such as Ocean Theater located in Ocean Square and the central urban area (Old Nha Trang Airport area) with a combination of provincial museum, indoor and outdoor restaurants.

This place shapes the convention centre, a new symbol of the city. Ocean Theater's design is inspired by the typical swallow's nest of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa and is expected to be built on a land area of more than 12 hectares (the construction area is nearly 4.3 hectares).

These areas also have An Vien bridge, coastal village, Yersin museum complex, etc.

Tran Phu Bridge will be expanded to add cycling and walking lanes. In addition, a viewing platform is in the middle of the bridge. Nearby, resort 378 of the Ministry of Public Security is expected to move to the northern area of Cam Ranh peninsula. Existing buildings are demolished.

In the future, this place will shape a new complex with Yersin museum buildings (4,000 m2), which will honour the legacy of Doctor Yersin, explore history and culture, Commercial area and viewing deck area, cafe, and beach bar. At the same time, the province will renovate the embankment beach walkway, create a public beach and pier, and renovate Yersin Park, etc. 

Tran Phu Bridge will be expanded in the future to have more cycling lanes and walking lanes, in addition, in the middle of the bridge there will be a viewing platform.

Many highlight projects, typical of coastal localities

When the urban design idea for the eastern area of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street is approved, the city will have many renovation works and new construction of high-class landscapes and urban areas to serve the community. The works are distributed in 4 zones, including the Retreat and Cruise Park (zone 1), Cultural Heritage Park (zone 2), Long Beach Park (zone 3) and Enjoyment Park (zone 4).

The beach area near Hon Do - reclaimed land Nha Trang Sao project (zone 2) will build a cultural heritage park with many check-in points, a cultural heritage square with a more than 11,000 people capacity, and a playground International-class skateboarding area over 1 hectare wide. A glass bridge will cross the Tu Ton Pagoda, a massive stone statue that is 15 meters high, in this location, which is noteworthy.

Area 3 is the construction works, Bon Mua restaurant, Sailing Club, and Louisiane restaurant... proposed to dismantle solid structures to improve the park's current state, creating an open, friendly space with the surrounding area. Traffic is intelligently designed and conveniently connected, with many parking lots and transit stations.

For zone 4, the highlight is the An Vien bridge spanning Cua Be connecting to the existing An Vien urban area as a welcome gate south of Nha Trang. This area also has a marine park, fishing village, tourist pier, residential port, welcome gate and coastal road...

The area is designed to create a 20 km long cycling path to admire the Nha Trang coast.

According to the leaders of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, the urban concept design of the eastern area of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street is the enthusiasm of the provincial leaders to raise Nha Trang to new heights.

The Provincial People's Committee directed the People's Committee of Nha Trang City to coordinate with the sponsoring unit and the design consulting unit to establish residential zoning plans with relevant boundaries in the eastern area of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street and submit them to the Department of Construction to the Provincial People's Committee for approval in the fourth quarter of 2023.
