Binh Duong Province Vietnam: Tan Uyen is the fourth city

On April 12th, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Mr.Man Tran, submitted the resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to Tan Uyen People's Committee. Thereby, Tan Uyen will be the fourth city in the province.
Tan Uyen City is located in the southeast of Binh Duong Province, Vietnam (established in April 2014). It covers an area of 192 square kilometers and borders three cities: Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, Bac Tan Uyen District, and Dong Nai Province. There are 06 industrial zones and clusters here, with 1866 domestic enterprises and a total registered capital of over 3256 billion VND; 637 foreign-funded enterprises with a total registered capital of nearly 5.3 billion US dollars.
The Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ms.Tra Pham, stated that Tan Uyen is an industrial and service center. It plays a role in promoting the socioeconomic development and urbanization of the province. With the increase in the city number, Binh Duong has four cities, including Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, and Tan Uyen. It is one of two provinces in Vietnam, together with Quang Ninh Province, owning 04 cities.

Mr.Loi Nguyen said that the plan to upgrade Tan Uyen Town to the city has been prepared for many years. For over a decade, this place has developed rapidly, with an average annual economic growth rate of 13%. The industrial, construction, and service industries account for 90% of the economic structure, with a budget revenue of approximately 4 trillion VND.
According to data from the General Statistics Office, the province (with a population of 2.7 million) has the highest per capita income in Vietnam in 2021, with 7.12 million people per month, which is 1.8 times the national average. The goal of the province is to achieve an average economic growth rate of approximately 10% per year from 2021 to 2030, with a per capita GDP (GRDP) exceeding $15700.
