HCMC – U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed in Hanoi tonight, April 14, beginning his three-day
The Vietnam visit is expected to promote bilateral relations as the two countries are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Partnership. This will be the first visit by Blinken to Vietnam in his capacity as U.S. Secretary of State.
He will have meetings with senior Vietnamese officials to discuss a shared vision of “a connected, prosperous, peaceful, and resilient Indo-Pacific region”, the U.S. Department of State said in a statement.
In late March, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a phone conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden.
The two leaders praised Vietnam-U.S. relations and sought to bolster the partnership for peace, cooperation and development.
