Vietravel Airlines launches its first int’l air service

HCMC – Local carrier Vietravel Airlines began offering tickets for regular international flights on its first international route linking Hanoi/HCMC with Thailand’s Bangkok from 11 a.m. today, November 11.

The flights operated by the carrier on the Hanoi/HCMC-Bangkok route are scheduled to take off from December 16 this year.

In recent years, Thailand has been among the top destinations of Vietnamese tourists due to its proximity to Vietnam, convenient travel procedures and reasonable travel costs, said a Vietravel Airlines representative.

“After nearly two years of focusing on offering services to the domestic market, with over 6,000 flights operated to major tourism destinations across Vietnam, this is the right time for Vietravel Airlines to join the international aviation market by launching its maiden international flights to cities in Thailand,” said the representative.

As of 2019, before the Covid pandemic broke out, around 509,800 Thai tourists traveled to Vietnam, up 145.9% against the 2018 figure. The number of Vietnamese tourists to Thailand in 2019 reached over 900,000.
