HCMC - The Ministry of Health this afternoon, June 21, reported the 67th Covid-19 death in the country, a 75-year-old man in HCMC’s District 8.

The man tested positive for Covid-19 on June 14 and was transferred to the Cu Chi Covid-19 Treatment Hospital in Cu Chi District for treatment. He suffered from underlying heath conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and dyslipidemia, the local media reported.

The hospital held a consultation with the Gia Dinh Hospital on the best treatment for him. However, together with his old age and serious underlying health conditions, he showed poor response during the treatment process and died on June 20.

It was concluded that he died of pneumonia caused by Covid-19, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, multi-organ failure and septic shock.

The deceased was found in a Covid-19 infection cluster in Ward 3, District 8, linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission chain of infection.
