HCMC – The government of Quang Nam Province decided to suspend the operations of interprovincial coaches, contracted cars and taxis to Covid-19-hit provinces and cities starting tomorrow, May 13, while vehicles used for health care purposes or those with special permits will be allowed to operate.
According to the decision issued by the provincial chairman, Le Tri Thanh, interprovincial passenger buses, contracted cars and taxis passing through virus-hit regions will not be allowed to stop in this central province for passenger pick-ups and drop-offs, reported VnExpress.
Passenger vehicles and taxis within the province can operate but must not have more than 50% of their seats in use and cannot transport more than 20 passengers per trip.
The central province of Quang Tri on May 11 also ordered a suspension on passenger transport services to and from Danang, which is among the virus-hit localities during the latest resurgence of Covid-19 in Vietnam.
Except for Danang, interprovincial passenger transport services linking Quang Tri with other localities can continue but these vehicles must not have more than 50% of their seats in use and cannot carry more than 20 passengers per trip. Further, the vehicles must not stop in virus-hit regions for passenger pick-ups and drop-offs or for passengers to get some rest.
In this resurgence, Quang Tri has reported three imported cases of Covid-19 and three locally-infected cases. Quang Nam since May 3 has recorded three community-infected cases linked to the central city of Danang.
