Vietnam confirms six new imported Covid-19 cases

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has reported six fresh imported Covid-19 cases in Bac Giang, Danang, Quang Nam and HCMC, taking the country’s tally to 2,637 this evening, April 5.

A 31-year-old woman, who resides in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province, arrived at Quang Ninh Province-based Van Don International Airport on flight VN88 on March 31 and was immediately sent to a centralized quarantine center in Bac Giang Province.

She tested positive for Covid-19 on April 5 and is being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh District.

In addition, two cases were reported in Danang, including a 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, residents of Thai Binh and Nghe An provinces, respectively.

On April 3, they came back to Vietnam from Japan on flights VN319 and VN5319, respectively, and were quarantined in Danang City. They were found positive for coronavirus on April 4 and are being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital.

Meanwhile, the patients in Quang Nam were male residents, aged 34 and 32, of Vinh Phuc Province and HCMC.

On April 2, they flew back to Vietnam from Japan through the Danang International Airport on flight VN311 and were quarantined immediately in Quang Nam. They tested positive for Covid-19 two days later.

The two patients are being treated at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

The remaining patient is a 40-year-old Indian expert. He arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC on April 1 and was quarantined immediately in the city. He tested positive for Covid-19 on April 3 and is being treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
