Ho Le Thu Reveals She Hid Singing Contest from Her Father

Ho Le Thu, a well-known Vietnamese singer, recently opened up about her early career during her guest judge appearance on the show "Listen to Me Sing 2026." She revealed that her father, a musician, had initially discouraged her from pursuing a career in the arts, leading her to secretly register for a singing competition without his knowledge.

In her heartfelt confession, Ho Le Thu explained that she wanted to avoid any favoritism that might arise from her father's connections within the music industry. She expressed her determination by stating, "I do not want my father to intervene. If I succeed, people will say it’s because of him. If I fail, I will understand my own capabilities." This mindset reflects her belief that while talent is essential, continuous effort and training are crucial for success in the music industry.

After taking a break from her artistic career to focus on her family, Ho Le Thu made a comeback, emphasizing that she never intended to abandon music. "Every time life throws a challenge my way, I find a song that resonates with the audience. When I sing from the heart, that emotion touches the hearts of many," she shared.

As a judge on the show, she highlighted the challenges contestants face in stepping out of the shadows of famous predecessors. To make a mark, singers must develop their unique style and approach. Ho Le Thu also underscored the importance of emotional expression over mere technical skill, stating that true artists must convey the soul of the song.

In her advice to young artists, she emphasized the need to be authentic: "Be yourself, not a shadow of anyone else." The competition "Listen to Me Sing 2026" is currently in its semi-final stage, showcasing performances from various talented contestants.
