Con Son – Kiep Bac is a relic complex in the territory of Chi Linh city (Hai Duong). Located more than 70km from the center of Hanoi, the road is big and beautiful, so visitors can easily move here by common means.

If you drive by yourself, it will take about 1 hour 32 minutes to go in the direction of the Hanoi – Bac Giang – Noi Bai – Ha Long highway in the direction of Ha Long (passing through the expressway toll station).

If driving a motorbike, from Hanoi crosses the Chuong Duong bridge, go through Bac Ninh along National Highway 5 – National Highway 17 – National Highway 18.

Bus fares from Hanoi to Chi Linh (Hai Duong) range from 100,000 VND (car > 16 seats) and 200,000 VND ($1=24,000 VND)(limousine). However, one thing to note is that if you want to get closest to the Con Son – Kiep Bac relic site, you can’t catch a bus on the Hai Duong or Hai Phong route. Instead, take the Quang Ninh bus, the terminus is Uong Bi, Cam Pha, Mong Cai, there will be a stop at Sao Do (Chi Linh).

In addition, Hai Duong also has inner-city and inter-provincial buses that take visitors to Con Son – Kiep Bac. These include routes 208: Hai Duong – Con Son, Kiep Bac – Bac Giang; 209 – 208: Thai Binh – Hai Duong – Con Son, Kiep Bac; 207 -208: Uong Bi – Con Son, Kiep Bac – Hai Duong.

Con Son Pagoda

Con Son Pagoda is located in Cong Hoa ward, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong.

The ancient temple at the foot of the mountain is recognized as one of the Buddhist centers of the Truc Lam Dai Viet Zen sect founded by Tran Nhan Tong. Currently, in the temple, there are many large Buddha statues as well as stone steles and documents recording historical events. Legend has it that this is also the place where Binh Ngo Dai Cao of Nguyen Trai was born.

From the foot of the mountain moving up, we will come to Con Son stream. Standing here, visitors will feel the most authentic way is “Con Son stream murmurs / I hear the sound of a harp in my ear / Con Son has mossy rocks / I sit on the rock like a soft mat”. Two large rocks by the stream are often called Thach Ban, it is said that Nguyen Trai sat watching the scenery, reciting poems, thinking about the world. Right next to it is the Nguyen Trai temple.

After passing 600 more stone steps, visitors will reach the “Fairy chess board” on the top of Con Son. Another advantage is that the path is not too steep, the two sides are hundred-year-old pine forests interspersed with lychee trees.

Kiep Bac Temple

About 5km from Con Son, in the territory of Duoc Son and Van Kiep villages, Hung Dao commune, Kiep Bac temple is mossy and ancient overlooking the Luc Dau Giang stream. The other three sides are surrounded by the Dragon Mountains. In the past, this was a military base – the headquarters of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan during the 3 times of resistance against the Yuan Mongols. .

Today, the highlight of the temple is the gate with 3 large, magnificent and ancient doors. Inside is the Jade Well with the legend that it never runs out of water, the North has the Tien Cave – a place to hide the treasury to serve the resistance in the past.
