Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, the star player of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, is confirmed to participate in the upcoming ASIAD 20 in Japan. Although she could not compete in the Asian Championship 2026 held in Tianjin, China, she is currently maintaining her fitness and training in Vietnam.
With just a month left before ASIAD 20, the team is focused on preparing for the competition. Quynh is the only player remaining in Hanoi, where she continues to train with her club team until she rejoins the national squad after the Asian Championship concludes on August 30, 2026.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will train at the Bac Ninh Sports University until their departure for Japan on September 14. Following the Asian Championship, the team will return to Vietnam on September 1, allowing them two weeks of preparation before heading to the international stage.
During this final training phase, the coaching staff is considering arranging practice matches with teams from northern Vietnam to refine the players' skills. This will be the last international assignment for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in 2026, marking an important milestone in their competitive calendar.
As the team gears up for ASIAD 20, the focus remains on enhancing their performance and achieving significant results in the tournament.
