Hanoi Enhances Social Security Account Integration on VNeID
Hanoi is intensifying efforts to integrate social security benefit accounts into the VNeID application,

In a proactive effort to assist residents, the police force in Doai Phuong commune, Hanoi, has partnered with local security personnel to visit homes and guide citizens in integrating their social security accounts for pension and welfare benefits. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize the social security payment system and make it more accessible, especially for the elderly who may struggle with technology.
According to reports, 11 task forces have been established, with each team assigned to a specific village. These teams are tasked with directly visiting households to provide step-by-step assistance in using the VNeID application for social security integration. So far, over 6,000 residents have received help in setting up their accounts.
The direct support is particularly beneficial for older adults who may not be familiar with smartphones or digital applications. By visiting homes, the police ensure that those who face difficulties in using electronic services can still access their benefits.
However, the task forces have encountered challenges, such as elderly individuals forgetting their VNeID or bank account details, which can prolong the assistance process. Since September 28, 2026, eligible residents can receive pensions, welfare payments, and other social security benefits through their integrated social security accounts on VNeID, as outlined in the recent government decree.
This new regulation allows individuals to link their social security accounts to a payment account, e-wallet, or mobile money account, facilitating the receipt of various benefits. It is important to note that while integrating an account is encouraged, it is not mandatory; beneficiaries can still receive their payments through traditional methods if they do not have a digital account set up.
The initiative by the police in Doai Phuong aims to support residents in adapting to this new digital payment method, ensuring that everyone, especially those who may find technology challenging, can benefit from the social security system.
