On September 30, 2026, Ca Mau province launched a health screening event for seniors, coinciding with the Month of Action for Vietnamese Elderly. Hundreds of elderly individuals participated in comprehensive health check-ups, including general examinations, eye tests, blood tests, and ultrasound scans, all provided free of charge.

During the event, seniors with identified health issues received treatment advice and guidance. Vo Hong Dung, a resident of Ly Van Lam Ward, expressed his gratitude for the government's attention to the elderly, highlighting the importance of health screenings in early disease detection and long-term health maintenance.

Another participant, Tran Van Khen, shared that age has diminished his health, requiring him to undergo regular check-ups and treatments. He commended the dedicated medical staff for their thoroughness and support during the screenings. Khen noted that such initiatives not only bring joy but also motivate seniors to live healthier lives, contributing to their families and society.

Nguyen Van Khoi, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ca Mau, emphasized that seniors are valuable assets to families and society, possessing vast experience and contributing significantly to their communities. Many actively participate in social work, preserving traditions and setting examples for younger generations.

In recent times, Ca Mau has implemented various activities to support seniors, including home visits, gift-giving, and health consultations. However, Khoi pointed out that some elderly individuals, especially those living alone or in difficult circumstances, still face challenges accessing healthcare services. The Month of Action for Vietnamese Elderly in 2026 aims to create tangible improvements through specific and effective actions.
