From October 2026, Vietnam will implement several significant social assistance policies aimed at improving the welfare of its citizens. Among these changes is the increase in the standard for social assistance, which will rise to 540,000 VND per month, a notable increase from the previous 360,000 VND. This adjustment is part of a broader initiative to ensure that vulnerable populations receive adequate support.

Additionally, a new pilot program for public lawyers will commence on October 1, 2026. This initiative, outlined in Resolution No. 24/2026/QH16, will allow public officials, military personnel, and state employees to serve as public lawyers. Their role will be to protect the legal rights and interests of state agencies and organizations, enhancing access to legal services for the public.

Furthermore, the government will also increase the standard of benefits for individuals who have contributed to the revolution, raising it from 2,789,000 VND to 3,012,000 VND. This increase will affect the calculation of various allowances and benefits for these individuals and their families.

Another important regulation is the establishment of the National Scholarship Fund, effective from October 1, 2026. This fund aims to promote high-quality human resources by providing scholarships and support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly in remote or ethnic minority areas.

These policies reflect the government's commitment to enhancing social welfare and ensuring that all citizens have access to necessary resources and support.
