A weak cold front is set to impact Northern Vietnam from the night of September 30, according to Trần Thị Thúy Nga, a meteorologist from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. This cold front will bring rain to mountainous regions and lower temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Today, September 29, the weather across the country is primarily stable, with little rain and abundant sunshine. In the northern midlands and lowlands, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 35-36 degrees Celsius, particularly from Thanh Hóa to Da Nang and eastern Quảng Ngãi.

The cold front will begin to influence the weather in Northern Vietnam starting from the night of September 30. As a result, rain is expected in the mountainous areas from early morning on October 1 to October 2. Temperatures in Northern Vietnam will decrease to around 32-34 degrees Celsius, marking the end of the recent heat wave.

In Central Vietnam, hot weather will persist for another two days. On September 30, regions from Nghệ An to Da Nang and eastern Quảng Ngãi will experience high temperatures, often reaching 35-36 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 37 degrees. Relative humidity will be low, typically between 45-50%.

From October 2, the widespread heat will subside in the areas from Nghệ An to Da Nang and eastern Quảng Ngãi. The risk level for heat-related disasters is currently at level 1. The combination of high temperatures and low humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity usage. Additionally, prolonged exposure to high temperatures may lead to dehydration.

It is important to note that the forecasted temperatures may differ from actual outdoor conditions by 1-3 degrees Celsius or more, depending on surface materials such as concrete and asphalt. Notably, a stronger cold front is expected to impact the region on October 4-5, potentially causing rain in Northern and Central Vietnam and significantly lowering temperatures. When this stronger cold front arrives, Northern and Central Vietnam will experience cooler weather, with minimum temperatures dropping to around 20-23 degrees Celsius, and some mountainous areas may see temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius.
