A tragic incident has occurred in Quang Tri province, where a 10th-grade student has gone missing after being swept away by floodwaters. The student, identified as Nguyen Gia H., was collecting firewood with two friends at Vuc Tro Stream in the Khe Gat village when the floodwaters rose unexpectedly.

According to local authorities, the incident took place around 2:30 PM on September 20. While wading through the stream, the swift and rising waters caught Nguyen off guard, leading to him being swept away. Upon receiving the report, the Phong Nha commune authorities quickly mobilized rescue teams and local residents to search for the missing student.

As of 7 PM on the same day, rescue efforts had yet to locate Nguyen Gia H. Search teams are systematically combing the area around the stream and other potential locations where the student might have been carried by the floodwaters.

In light of the complex weather conditions and rising flood risks, local authorities have urged residents to stay away from rivers, streams, and flooded areas to ensure their safety. The search and rescue operations will continue until the student is found.
