Silver prices in Vietnam have been experiencing significant fluctuations recently, prompting buyers to become more cautious in their purchasing decisions. This change in sentiment is particularly evident among those who previously bought silver as a means of saving and investment.

Nguyen Bao Chau, a buyer from Dong Anh, Hanoi, shared that she began purchasing silver earlier this year to accumulate some idle funds. Instead of making a large purchase at once, she opted to buy smaller amounts over time. However, the recent volatility in silver prices has made her more wary, especially considering the price differences between buying and selling. Chau stated, "Initially, I bought silver with the intention of holding it long-term, so I wasn't overly concerned about daily price fluctuations. However, with the recent changes, I am more cautious and have no immediate plans to buy more."

Chau is now considering waiting to see how prices develop before making further investments. She mentioned that if she has additional spare funds, she might consider investing in other assets that align better with her financial situation.

Similarly, Nguyen The Huy from Vinh Thanh, Hanoi, has accumulated a total of 15 taels of silver this year, purchasing in multiple batches at varying prices. He noted that he is currently holding off on additional purchases and is monitoring the market closely. "I buy silver to accumulate, so I don't focus too much on daily fluctuations. However, with the current volatility, I will be more careful and not rush into buying more," Huy explained.

As of September 16, 2026, at 11:25 AM, the price of 999 silver (1 tael) at Phu Quy Gold and Silver Group was listed at 2.207 to 2.275 million VND (buying and selling), reflecting an increase of 20,000 VND from the previous morning. Meanwhile, the price of 999 silver (1 kg) was listed at 58.853 to 60.666 million VND (buying and selling), marking an increase of 534,000 VND for buying and 533,000 VND for selling compared to the previous morning.

On the international market, as of 9:25 AM on September 16, the price of silver was recorded at 63.86 USD per ounce, up by 0.36 USD from the previous morning.
