Nguyen Quy Duc Primary School in Hanoi has announced a change in its meal provider for students starting September 10, following complaints about late deliveries and inadequate meal portions. The decision was made after a meeting between the school administration and parents on September 9.

After just three days of implementing the meal service, the school recognized significant issues with the previous provider, Minh Viet Sinh Company. Parents reported that meals were often delivered late, with some classes receiving fewer meals than registered. For instance, Class 5A10 had registered for 41 meals but only received 32, while Class 5A9 registered for 41 but received 39.

The school documented these issues in a report dated September 7, noting that meals were not pre-portioned, requiring teachers to spend extra time distributing food, which could interfere with students' lunch schedules. Additionally, there were instances where soup was delivered late, with some classrooms missing out entirely.

In response to these challenges, the school has opted to replace the original provider with a new company that will begin by delivering pre-prepared meals for the first two days and will start cooking on-site from September 14. The school aims to ensure that meal service for the students is stable and reliable.

On the morning of September 10, the new meal provider was present at the school to prepare meals for the students. The school administration expressed hope for cooperation from parents to ensure the safe and timely distribution of meals, emphasizing the importance of monitoring food quality and safety.

The local government has confirmed the termination of the contract with the previous meal provider and is actively working on selecting a more reliable option to guarantee that students receive proper meals.
