Sean Sobers, the Foreign Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, landed in Venezuela on September 3, 2026, for an official visit. The purpose of this visit is to bolster dialogue, friendship, and cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

Upon arrival at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, Sobers was welcomed by Raúl Li Causi, the Vice Minister for the Caribbean. He was accompanied by several officials, including Randall Karim, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the Foreign Service, as well as Claire de Bourg and Christopher Thomas, who oversee the Americas Division.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Venezuela highlighted on their Instagram account that this meeting continues the discussions held recently by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia. These talks reaffirmed the commitment to advance a mutually beneficial agenda and foster good neighborly relations.

During his stay in Venezuela, Sobers is scheduled to hold meetings with government authorities, focusing on strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Ministry emphasized its ongoing efforts to promote Caribbean integration and build bridges for development and peace among the nations.
