Update on Tan Van Interchange Construction on Ring Road 3
The Tan Van interchange, a key project on Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3, is currently under rapid

The An Phu overpass, a crucial infrastructure project in Ho Chi Minh City, has been completed after experiencing two delays in its timeline. Initially scheduled for completion in June, the project was postponed to late July before finally being finished. The overpass is now operational, significantly enhancing access for vehicles heading to Cat Lai Port and the Long Thanh Expressway.
Located at one of the city's busiest intersections, the An Phu interchange features a three-tier design that includes two underpasses and various overpasses for vehicles turning in multiple directions. The project has a total investment of over 3.4 trillion VND and commenced in December 2022, with an original completion date set for April 2025.
The N4 overpass, which is approximately 468 meters long and 9 meters wide, consists of two lanes designed for a speed limit of 50 km/h. It has been equipped with asphalt, lane markings, and lighting, and is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the area, particularly for container trucks that frequently travel to and from the port.
With the opening of the N4 overpass, traffic can now flow directly to and from Cat Lai Port, alleviating pressure on the An Phu junction. The project is part of a larger effort to improve traffic conditions in Ho Chi Minh City, which sees an average of over 20,000 container truck movements daily.
As construction continues, the focus will shift to completing the connections between Mai Chi Tho Avenue and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. Another bridge segment is also under construction, expected to open by October, further enhancing the interchange's capacity.
The An Phu interchange is vital for connecting major thoroughfares, including Mai Chi Tho, Luong Dinh Cua, Nguyen Thi Dinh, and Dong Van Cong, making it a key gateway for the city.
