Honda UC3 Faces Supply Shortages at Dealers

The Honda UC3 electric scooter is currently facing supply shortages at various dealerships, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City. This situation arises despite the model's popularity among customers since its launch in early July, which sparked discussions regarding its pricing.

As of now, some authorized Honda dealerships are unable to fulfill customer orders due to limited stock. While the UC3 has an official price of 80 million VND and 81.4 million VND for its two versions, promotional prices currently stand at 56.5 million VND and 57.9 million VND. However, the restricted supply has led to higher prices at some private motorcycle dealers, with one unit offering a white version at 59.6 million VND, approximately 3 million VND above the promotional price.

Despite the ongoing promotional pricing, the Honda UC3 remains one of the more expensive electric scooters in Vietnam. The company plans to localize production of this model by the end of the year, which is expected to enhance supply and potentially make the scooter more accessible to consumers.

The Honda UC3 features a 5-inch TFT screen and supports Honda RoadSync connectivity, enabling navigation and calling features. Its battery, which is fixed under the floorboard, offers a storage capacity of 26 liters. The scooter uses a CHAdeMO charging port suitable for two-wheeled vehicles.

In terms of performance, the UC3 is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor with a maximum output of 6,000W, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. According to Honda, the UC3 can accelerate from 0 to 20 km/h, comparable to some gasoline models with a 160cc engine, making it ideal for daily urban commuting. The battery has a capacity of 3.174 kWh and, combined with a regenerative braking system, provides a maximum range of 120 km on a full charge. The scooter comes with a 1,200W charger, taking approximately four hours to fully charge.
