Honda Increases Prices for Gasoline Motorcycles in Vietnam

Honda Vietnam has officially adjusted the prices of its gasoline motorcycle lineup, which includes standard bikes, scooters, and manual transmission models, starting from July 1. The majority of these motorcycles will see price increases ranging from 98,000 to 700,000 VND, with the exception of the Honda SH350i Sport, which will see a price reduction of 300,000 VND.

According to the announcement, the price adjustments were made after careful consideration of global material cost fluctuations. Honda emphasized that the increase is necessary to maintain product quality. For instance, the special edition of the Honda Wave Alpha will now cost over 18.8 million VND, reflecting an increase of more than 390,000 VND. Other versions of the Wave Alpha have also seen similar price hikes, bringing them to approximately 18-19 million VND.

Popular models such as the Honda Wave RSX and Honda Future 125 FI have also been affected, with each version increasing by 98,000 VND. The Wave RSX is now priced between 22.1 and 25.6 million VND, while the Future 125 FI ranges from 30.6 to 32.3 million VND after the adjustment.

In addition, several popular scooters, including the Vision, Lead, Air Blade 125, and SH Mode, have increased by over 196,000 VND. The price adjustments for other models like the Honda Air Blade 160, Vario 160, and SH 160i also reflect an increase of 200,000 VND from the beginning of July.

The Honda Winner R and the off-road scooter Honda ADV 350 will follow the same price increase of 200,000 VND. The Honda SH350i Sport, after the price reduction, is now priced at 152.39 million VND, while the Premium and Special versions have increased by 200,000 to 700,000 VND, now costing 151.39 million VND and 152.89 million VND, respectively.

In May, Honda Vietnam reported sales of 169,976 motorcycles, marking a 3.9% decrease compared to the same period last year. For the current fiscal year, total motorcycle sales have reached 343,444 units, down 1.3% year-on-year. Despite being the best-selling motorcycle brand in Vietnam, Honda faces increasing competition from electric vehicle manufacturers.

Last year, Honda introduced its first electric motorcycle models, the Honda CUV e: and Honda ICON e:, and recently launched the Honda UC3. The company is also expanding its network of charging stations and battery swap kiosks for electric motorcycles at authorized dealers.
