Unique Durian Parade in Dak Lak Celebrates Local Agriculture

The Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026 witnessed a remarkable event on August 16, where a parade of 525 pickup trucks transported more than 1,000 tons of durian through the streets of Dak Lak. This unique procession not only highlighted the region's agricultural achievements but also celebrated the hard work of local farmers.

The parade commenced from Tan An Square and followed a designated route through major streets, including Tran Phu and Le Duan, eventually concluding on Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Buon Ma Thuot. Along the route, numerous spectators gathered to witness the impressive display of durian trucks, expressing their admiration for the local produce.

Local farmer Le Van Cuong shared his pride in seeing the trucks filled with durians, saying, "As a farmer myself, I feel very proud to see these trucks carrying our durians. This event motivates us, the durian growers, to continue our work." Similarly, Nguyen Thi Trang, a young resident of Ea Kao, remarked on how the parade helped her and her peers appreciate the value of Dak Lak's agricultural products and the challenges faced by farmers.

At the conclusion of the parade, representatives from the Guinness World Records presented a certificate for the "Longest Pickup Truck Durian Parade in the World" to the festival organizers. This recognition added to the festive atmosphere, celebrating not just the fruit but also the community's spirit.

Additionally, on the evening of August 15, the Vietnam Record Organization established a record for the "Largest Durian Basket Model in Vietnam," which was unveiled during the festival. This impressive structure, standing 18 meters tall and 16 meters wide, creatively combined traditional imagery from the Central Highlands with the durian, symbolizing the economic opportunities this fruit brings to the local population.
